Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Receptions and Presentations
Lohre & Associates will be sponsoring events that allow potential LEED owners
and developers to meet owners and developers of some of Ohio, Kentucky and
Indiana's LEED and other energy
and environmental design developments. The goal of these events is to help create a
community of energy and environmental design leaders.
For the
event on
Friday,
May 30,2008,
speakers
were:
Stefanie Sunderland: Northside LEED registered homes
Jeff Chamot:
Neyer Properties'

www.neyer1.com
Chuck Lohre spoke on behalf of the Kenton County School
District's Twenhofel LEED
registered school in Independence, KY.
For the event Friday, October
19, 2007,
speakers
were:
Andy Hueber: John Hueber Homes
The two homes on Observatory Road feature geothermal heating and air conditioning,
light concrete to reduce heat gain, large overhangs to shade the patios, high
insulation values, CO exhaust, sustainable wood uses, urban infill and native
plantings. Hueber Homes is also working on two other LEED registered or certified
(one Silver Certified) homes in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. www.johnhueberhomes.com , 513-683-3080
Jack King: Elements IV Office and Warehouse
This commercial office and warehouse in Dayton, Ohio was completely renovated
and LEED Interior Silver has been awarded. Interior tearout finishes and carpet were recycled. The final cost per square foot was nearly half of a comparable space. This building features underfloor electrical distribution, movable wall panels and the
lower floor is built into the hillside. www.elementsiv.com, 937-918-1000
Craig Frye: Sanitation District 1
This complex in Fort Wright, Kentucky is a wonderful demonstration of every aspect
of stormwater management. From the green roof to the final delivery of the runoff to the nearby creek, you can see how permeable concrete and asphalt contribute to the
slowing of the water flow as it goes from roof top and parking lot, swale, wetlands
rain garden, through native plants, holding pond, creek, Licking River and on to the Ohio River. www.sd1.org, 859-578-6744
For the event on May 25, 2007, at the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulter House, in Clifton,
